Orlando - National Youth Convention and Fine Arts
This years National Youth Convention and Fine Arts will be held in Orlando, Florida and our youth are going!!!!
We are so excited to be going to National Youth Convention and Fine Arts in Orlando Florida. It is going to be an awesome time.
You will be inspired by dynamic speakers in the Assemblies of God and have the opportunity to take part in powerful worship times led by Jeff Deyo, recording artist and co-founder of Pure Worship Institute (Nashville,Tenn.).
On Monday, Southeastern Spanish District youth director and co-host of the Orlando09 AIM outreach Mark Vega will kick off evening services for the week. Vega is a dynamic evangelist, author of Don't Wait for Me to Die (Thomas Nelson) and pastor of Ignite Life Center in Gainesville, Florida. With a heart rooted in mentoring students, Vega founded IGNITE, Inc., an internship program that prepares young people called to full-time ministry in the areas of leadership and ministerial life.
Wednesday's service, featuring national youth director Jay Mooney, will challenge students across the nation to move forward as a generation of youth in ministry —championing the cause of Jesus Christ! Combined student and adult services on Thursday and Friday evening will feature speaker Herbert Cooper, senior pastor of People's Church in Oklahoma City and Dick Brogden, missionary to the war-torn country of Sudan. A Speed the Light offering, taken during the Friday evening service, will directly benefit a specially designated missionary project. Immediately following the Friday night rally, the National Fine Arts Festival Celebration Service will recognize the top Fine Arts participants across the nation and showcase performances by various Award of Merit recipients. You won't want to miss this Extraordinary event!
We have three of our own teenagers competing in National Fine Arts. They are Caleb Crino in Male Vocal Solo as well as Short Sermon, Joshua Ingalls in Digital Photography and also John Pfisterer in Digital Photography. We will be leaving on August 2nd and returning August 9th. While we are there we will be spending 2 days in Disney. Tuesday and Saturday will be the 2 days that we will be spending the day in Disney.
I am totally excited to see what God does in the lives of our teenagers. I know that God will show Himself to them. I have been to 4 other National Youth Conventions and seen God do amazing things. I don't think that God will do anything different this time. As long asa you are willing and seeking then God will pour out His spirit on you in amazing ways.
We are all registered and ready to go. We are having another fundraiser soon on June 28th and hopefully 3 more after that. Our goal is raise $1,500. So pray that we can reach that goal. But like I said we are registered to go and I will booking our plane tickets this week. Our hotel is already booked. I just want to thank Sherry Skinner who has donated 2 condos in Florida for our teenagers to stay in while we are done there. So once we get the plane tickets and the van rental all we need is the money. So I am excited and I know our teenagers are as well. Keep us in prayer as we put this trip together and go!
